SERIES: TIPS FOR A BETTER TO DO LIST (TWO OUT OF FOUR)

 

Welcome to the second tip of this series. Lets go straight to the Qs.

Have you ever...

  • caught yourself in a hectic morning and almost or even burnt your toast?
  • left your laptop accidentally because it's not in the same room as your work tote bag?
  • skipped your dinner because you forgot to defrost your chicken and too lazy to go out and too late to wait for food delivery?

 

If you have experience any of the above, I think you would know that it all happens when you are lack of preparations.

 

Same goes to writing a to-do list - I suggest you create your list a night before. By doing this, you will have a fresh start and save some time in the morning to meditate, relax, enjoy your morning coffee or some other things that would help you to kickstart your day. 

 

By creating your list a night before, you will also get the opportunity to sleep with a clear mind which equals to a good quality sleep. This is because you have done a brain dump right before sleep and you have prepped your mind to relax and know that you got it all covered for tomorrow.

 

So lets face it - preparation is the key to success. If you want to enjoy eating a nice breakfast before work, you need to prep your meal a night before, prepare your outfit a night before and make sure all is good to go in the morning and nothing is left at home just because you are not prepared. To be able to achieve productivity, you also need to have a good preparation in writing your to do list. When you have allocated a time to write it down, you'll have the time to really think and measure which task needs to be the top priority and such.
